Depending on the brand you work for within Welcome Break you could be making coffee as a Barista in Starbucks, frying chicken as a Cook in KFC, serving customers in our Forecourts (Petrol Stations) or making sandwiches in Subway. Working as a Welcome Break Team Member is a fun and rewarding role, helping our road-weary customers feel human again

Typical unit structure

As a Team Member, you’ll join one of our sites in a unit led by a UBM (Unit Business Manager) and can work in any one of the brands in that location.  

You have so many options to progress not only upwards but also across brands.

You’re the face of Welcome Break. The person who welcomes our road-weary customers with a warm, friendly smile and makes them feel human again. Team Members play a vital role, keeping our sites running like clockwork. 

Team Member Specialist

Team Member Specialists are recognised experts in their role – from Coffee Master in Starbucks to Cook in KFC to News and Magazines Specialist in WHSmith. Part technical expert, part quality control, part brand advocate, becoming a Specialist takes your knowledge, skills and career to the next level.
 

Service Leader

Calm under pressure? Service Leaders keep our units running smoothly day in, day out – motivating the team and coaching them to deliver brand standards. As part of our management team, you’ll make sure every customer gets the Famous Five treatment and leaves with a smile. 
 

Assistant Manager

Got a head for business? As Assistant Manager, you’ll support the Unit Business Manager (UBM) in all aspects of running the unit, from recruitment and training to managing stock and finances. It’s all about optimising performance and a great stepping stone to a more senior leadership role.
 

Unit Business Manager (UBM)

Good business acumen? Strong people skills? The high profile role of Unit Business Manager (UBM) could be for you. In charge of your own retail or catering unit, you’ll lead the team and be responsible for delivering profitable growth. Yes, it’s a big ask. But it’s a great chance to take your career further
 

Are you committed, enthusiastic and have a can-do attitude? From finance to customer service to maintenance, our site support teams help make sure every aspect of a Welcome Break unit or site runs like clockwork – so that customers can be sure of a great experience.
